What does it actually cost to translate my store?
Whatever your own provider charges, and nothing more. Converta uses your own OpenAI or DeepL key and never resells or adds to the price of translation. A typical small catalogue is a few hundred thousand characters, which costs cents on a cheap model. You set a monthly limit in the app and Converta stops there by itself, so it cannot run up a surprise bill. And because every phrase is saved against the text itself, you are never charged twice for the same sentence. Editing one product only re-translates the lines that actually changed.
Is my API key safe?
Your key is encrypted before it is stored, used only for your own store, and never written to a log. There is deliberately no way to read it back out, in the app or anywhere else, by you or by us. Converta will only ever tell you that a key exists and its last four characters. To change it you paste a new one; if you remove it, translation stops immediately and everything already translated keeps showing. If you uninstall Converta, your key is deleted.
Will it slow my store down?
No. Translations are done ahead of time and saved, so a shopper's page view is a simple lookup. It never waits on a translation service. Anything it has not translated keeps your original wording, and if it can't reach us at all, your store shows exactly as it does today. There are no theme edits.
Which languages are supported?
40, including German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese (both European and Brazilian), Polish, Swedish, Japanese, Korean, both written forms of Chinese, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi and more. Right-to-left languages are laid out properly, not just translated. You choose exactly which to offer. A handful, Arabic, Hebrew and Hindi among them, aren't available on DeepL. If you're on DeepL the app tells you plainly rather than quietly leaving them blank.
Do I need to touch my theme or write any code?
No. Converta installs from the OpoShop App Store. There's no code to paste and no theme editing. Pick your languages and add your key. Converta then reads your store's words, including the wording built into your theme (buttons, menus, banners), which it learns from your live store pages because that text doesn't exist in any export. The app shows you how much has been translated so far.
Does it change my prices, or collect shopper data?
It changes words only. Prices, order numbers and anything else that isn't language are left exactly as they are, because a translated price would be a wrong price. It can translate the words in your cart and on other pages, but it never changes how your cart or checkout work and never sees payment details. To learn your store's wording it reads the text on your store pages. It does not read account, order, checkout or sign-in pages, and it skips anything that looks like an email address, a price or a long number.
